An
essay by area resident June Lockwood won her grandson,
Joshua Vivenzio, a new computer system from Preventive
Medicine.
Preventive
Medicine, a doctors' office in Camillus, recently
sponsored an essay contest titled, ''Do a Good Deed."
Dr. Joseph Barry, of Preventive Medicine, said the
essay paid tribute to Joshua's care and concern for
his grandmother.
Joshua, 12, is a student at Roxboro Road Middle School
and lives with his parents, David and Candy Vivenzio,
of Matty-dale.
Barry presented the award on Dec. 2. He said he sponsored
the contest because he realizes the importance of
inspiring young adults to make the right choices in
life and because he wanted to recognize the good deeds
of people.
' 'More children should be recognized for the good
that they do and not the bad,'' said Lock-wood.
Other contestants were awarded gift certificates to
Barnes & Noble bookstores.
